Introducing VIDEOudit Journal
People now ask AI as well as search engines. Yet no one has been consistently recording which videos show up inside those answers. VIDEOudit Journal starts that record.
Why we are recording this
When Google published its guide to optimizing for generative AI search in May 2026, it included dedicated guidance on image and video content. AI search is using not only text but also video as material for its answers.
But no official document tells you which videos get cited, for which questions, and how often. The only way to know is to ask, record and compare.
How each report is made
- 01 · Questions Fix the questions We choose the questions users actually ask and use the exact same wording every time.
- 02 · Collect Gather the answers We ask under the same conditions in temporary chats that use no history.
- 03 · Count Count video citations We list the videos, channels and source types that appear in the answers.
- 04 · Publish Open the results We publish with dates and conditions so anyone can check them again.
What we promise
- Only what we measured. We never copy estimates or numbers that circulate in the industry.
- Conditions included. We always state the date, the engine and how we asked.
- Corrections when we are wrong. When an error is confirmed, we fix it right away and note the date.
Our first observation report will appear here as soon as it is ready. Observations about web pages are published on our sister blog, AIOudit Journal.
